Do you want to know how to make $500 fast without a lot of work? Of course you do, who doesn't?!
Luckily for you I've done the work and compiled the ultimate list of free money offers from companies literally giving it away!
You're probably wondering why companies would give away money for free and the answer is really simple: they want your business!
Acquiring new customers is one of the hardest things for companies to do especially when they're new and most people haven't heard of them, yet.
This is where giving away money comes in as what better way to gain new customers than to attract them with free money?!
The following companies are currently (as of October, 2018) offering various promotions that allow you to quickly make money (mostly) online by doing simple things like open a new account or test drive a car.
While some offers will take longer than others to complete, almost all of them should only take a few minutes and most can be completed online in your spare time.
If you complete every offer listed below you should easily be able to make $500 or more pretty quickly and mostly online (with the obvious exception of test driving a car, I haven't figured out how to do that one online yet.)
That being said, things change and sometimes companies stop their free money offers or change the rules governing them so I'll do my best to update when a change comes to my attention but I can't make any guarentees so be sure to read the fine print of any offers before signing up.
I'll also try my best to note all instructions you need to follow to get paid for each offer but I can't make any guareentees here either so again, please make sure to read the fine print so you know what your signing up for.
If you find any errors or want to let me know about a company currently giving away money you can let me know here.
Simple is currently offering $20 when you sign up for a free checking account through an invite link and then buy something with your associated Visa debit card.
There's no minimum purchase amount noted on their website so I assume you can just purchase something for $1 and still get the $20 bonus thereby getting a free $19 or so (minus tax, of course).
I just signed up a little while ago and I'm currently waiting on my debit card to arrive so I can use it to get my bonus.
I'll update this once I use it to note how long it took for my $20 bonus to appear in my account since that isn't listed on their site either.
This offer is only open to U.S. citizens over the age of 18 living in the U.S. and who meet some other general bank related qualifications (most U.S. adults do).
Also, their checking accounts are completely free-free so no need to worry about maintenance charges or minimum balance requirements.
If you want to read more about Simple and their checking account offering head over to my complete Simple bank review.
Look at that, if you choose to take advantage of this deal you're already $20 closer towards your goal of making 500 dollars fast online.
Robinhood is an online brokerage that will actually give you a share of stock for signing up. The specific stock is randomly selected from among the most popular stocks and can range in value from $2.50 to $200 per share.
This means Robinhood is a great answer to the question of how to quickly make $500 online since just by signing up you could potentialy make $200 in stock!
This is potentially one of the best deals in this list as the sign up process is quick and easy which means you literally could make $200 in mere minutes (you'll probably receive a stock worth significantly less than $200 but the potential is certainly there).
To qualify to get the free share of stock you have to open a new account via a referal link and meet some requirements such as being a U.S. citizen over 18 along with some other mandated requirements.
You also must have a smartphone (iPhone or Android) to download their app since this brokerage only operates via their app (no trading through a website).
The big draw for Robinhood is that they don't charge any fees for trading stocks. This is obviously a big plus as those fees can eat into your returns if you tend to trade a lot.
Even if you don't like the idea of not having a traditional website to trade through you can still give Robinhood a try and get a free share of stock for doing so, not a bad deal at all!
Swagbucks is great when your trying to make some easy money fast online since they normally offer a lot of good money making offers.
Most of the offers involve signing up for a service for a certain amount of money and then getting even more Swagbucks later on.
Swagbucks for those that don't know is a website/app that pays you to do various stuff like watch videos, take surveys, and sign up for offers.
If you want to read more about it you can check out my complete Swagbucks guide.
These are some of the best money making offers currently available from Swagbucks:
You can sign up for Gillete's razor delivery service and get 4000 Swagbucks which is the equivalent of $40. You get a $3 coupon for your first order which means you can make about $32.50 depending on your state's sales tax.
Make a $15 donation to the Sierra Club and get 3600 Swagbucks ($36) though the details say you have to wait 60 days for the Swagbucks to credit which means you might have to make two donations of $15 (one a month) thereby reducing your profit.
Basically, if one donation works then you can make $21 but if two donations are required then you can only make $6.
You can sign up for Blue Apron and get both $50 off your first two boxes as well as 3500 Swagbucks ($35) thereby potentially making about $12.
There are different subscription options with different costs so your mileage may vary but it should be about $12 profit if you get the cheapest 2 person meal.
If you sign up for any offers from Swagbucks, make sure to disable any adblockers or other extensions that may interfere with their tracking. This is very important because if they can't track your purchase they can't credit you.
Ibotta offers a free $10 when you sign up and redeem your first qualifying rebate. The amount of money you can make obviously depends on what rebate you choose and what you buy but you should easily be able to at least make a few dollars towards your goal of $500.
The rebates that qualify don't include certain categories like generic rebates that say for instance "$0.25 off any bread" or similar terms. Make sure to check their app and website for complete terms.
If you want to learn more about Ibotta, you can check out my complete Ibotta review that goes into much more detail.
Netspend offers a prepaid card that you can load money on to use to buy things with just like a credit or debit card except it's a prepaid card.
Currently, Netspend will give you a free $20 after you load $40 onto your Netspend prepaid card. To take advantage of this offer, open an account and then when your card arrives load $40 on it using one of the approved methods.
The method I chose which is probably the easiest and doesn't cost anything was a Paypal bank transfer. Netspend considers transfers from Paypal direct deposits which means they qualify for the $20 bonus.
Once you transfer the money onto your new Netspend card you should see your $20 bonus credited to your account within a few days (I think mine showed up within a day).
You should know that Netspend does have a lot of fees associated with it so it's probably a good idea to look at the list of fees and make sure you understand them before signing up or using your card to make purchases.
Their fee structure is somewhat confusing as I'm not entirely sure how to transfer my money out without inccuring a fee so currently my $60 is still in my account. I'll update this after I transfer my money or use my card to let you know if I incurred a fee (or hopefully how I avoided one.)
Also, Netspend apparently has a savings account that you can earn a whopping 5% APY through on balances of up to $1000. While the $1000 limit is low, it's still a free ~$50 a year if you keep a $1000 in it all year.
I haven't figured out how to utilize the savings account portion yet but it might be worth checking out if you're looking for a high yield savings account.
The final thing to know about Netspend is that the website seems to be down a lot. Maybe I've just been unlucky but in the short amount of time I've known about Netspend the website has been down multiple times when I've tried to access it or it becomes unavailable shortly after signing in to my account.
This obviously is not something most people would want in a company in charge of their money so keep that in mind if you're considering taking advantage of this offer.
That being said, I have gotten my $20 bonus like they promised so if the website/service being down doesn't bother you, you may want to consider signing up.
Capital One is offering a free $25 when you open a free savings, money market, or checking account with a minimum deposit of $250.
The checking account also requires three debit card purchases within 45 days in order to get the bonus so you're better off signing up for the savings or money market account.
All you have to do is sign up and then make sure to deposit at least $250 into your account (and make 3 debit card purchases within 45 days if signing up for the checking account).
While it's more hoops to jump through compared to Simple due to the minimum deposit (and possible debit card purchases), it's still free money so if you have an extra $250 laying around you probably want to consider signing up.
Even if you don't have $250 laying around right now it's good to keep this offer in mind (maybe bookmark this page?) so when you do have the cash you can take advantage of this offer.
Rize is an online brokerage account that will give you $5 when you open a new account.
Basically, Rize acts like an automated savings account (though it's technically a brokerage account) moving money from your linked bank account at a chosen interval.
The money in your Rize account currently earns an APY of 1.65% and there's no minmum or maximum balance requirements.
Your money is still insured but because it's a brokerage account it's through the SIPC instead of the FDIC.
Rize also apparently offers an investment option where I assume your money isn't insured so be sure to read all the fine print and make sure you know what you're investing in and all associated risks.
Also, none of this information is meant to be investment advice and shouldn't be relied upon.
A cool thing about Rize is the fact that they don't have any set cost as they leave it up to you to decide how much you would like to donate each month.
I really like this model as it allows one to not only try out their service and see if they like it but also to pay what they can afford or feel is fair.
Want to pay nothing per month? You can! Think it's the greatest app ever invented and want to pay $100 a month? You can do that too though I'd seriously question your judgement.
Basically, if you want another free $5 towards your goal of making $500 online go sign up and link your bank account. You should see your bonus within a few days.
Hyundai is currently offering a free $50 gift card for test driving a new car. Yes, that's right, all you have to do is test drive a new car and they'll give you a free $50 in the form of a Visa prepaid card, an Amazon.com gift card, or a Target gift card (your choice).
To get your free gift card, all you have to do is sign up, print out the coupon they give you, then go to the dealership they list, present the coupon and (maybe) test drive a car.
I say maybe because when I got mine the other day, I didn't even need to test drive a car as I was upfront with the salesman and told him I was only there for the free $50.
He was really nice about it and just entered my information in his system and that was it.
While this offer obviously can't be completed online it was still fairly quick to complete as the whole thing (drive there and back included) took about 30 minutes which means I made the equivalent of about $100/hour. Your mileage (get it?) obviously will vary but completing this offer will get you 10% closer towards our goal of making $500 fast and easy.
I chose to receive a digital Visa prepaid card due to the fact that you don't have to wait for shipping and there's no fee unlike the physical card with has a $3 fee associated with it making it only worth $47.
I recevied the free card in my email later that same day so it's a really quick and easy process.
I'm not positive but I think this deal will only last until early September but from what I read I think they've offered a similiar deal earlier in the year so if you miss this one another one may be around the corner but why chance it?
Acorns is one of a number of robo advisors that are increasing in popularity. Acorns works by automatically investing small sums of money, usually money left over from a purchase, into investments you select.
Acorns is convenient for those that don't have much investing experience though they do charge a fee for this convenience which is why I think there are better alternatives out there.
The cool thing about Acorns though is they give you $5 just for signing up and making at least a $5 investment. They also will give you $5 for successfully referring others which means your referral opens an account and invests at least $5.
Acorns charges $1 or 0.25% per month depending on your account value which can be a very high rate compared to other brokerages if you only have a small amount of money invested. There are certainly cheaper options out there if you're looking for a main investment account or robo advisor.
Overall though it only takes a few minutes to sign up and you can get a free $5 by doing so (and investing $5+) so not sure why you wouldn't. That being said, the usual investment account restrictions apply like having to be a U.S. citizen over the age of 18, etc.
Stash, like Acorns, is another automatic investing app that invests small amounts of money for you in various investments that you select ahead of time.
Also like Acorns, they will give you $5 for opening an account and funding it with at least $5. Are you getting the sense that Stash and Acorns are really similar, yet?
In case you're not, here's another similarity: they charge the same amount per month (at least for some of their accounts.) Like Acorns, Stash will cost you $1 a month for accounts under $5000 or 0.25% for those above that amount.
Like I said about Acorns, this fee can be really high compared to other brokerage accounts depending on the amount you have invested especially since there are free options avilable now like Robinhood.
So while I don't think Stash (or Acorns) is ideal from a brokerage aspect, it is ideal if you want to quickly make $5 with hardly any effort.
Fifth Third Bank is currently offering a $200 bonus for new customers who open a checking account and keep a balance of at least $500 in it for a minimum of 60 days.
Unlike a lot of other bank promotions, this one doesn't require any direct deposit which makes it ideal for those that are either unemployed at the moment or don't have access to direct deposits for another reason.
The usual requirements regarding bank accounts apply here so you'll need to be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen to take advantage of this offer, etc.
Also, apparently you can't do this one online as you have to open the checking account at a bank branch by bringing a coupon that gets emailed to you to the bank.
Some of the checking accounts may have fees though apparently you can open a Free checking account that I'm guessing is fee-free but make sure to check all the details of this offer by reading the find print and maybe asking a bank employee before you sign up just to be sure.
This offer expires Decemer 31st, 2018 so keep that in mind if your considering signing up.
So now you know how to quickly make $500 online even without a job. As you've seen, there are plenty of companies that are all too happy to pay you to try their product or service so why not accept their offers?
If you take advantage of all the deals listed here you should be able to easily earn at least $500 with very little work.
While I've done my best to try to list all of the worthwhile deals I could find, I'm sure others are out there so I'll be updating this list from time to time so be sure to bookmark this page.
If you know of some I haven't listed or found an error somewhere please let me know. Thanks for reading and I hope you found my list useful!
